Olive Louise Williams was born on May 25, 1917 in the quiet settlement of Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands. She attended the Blue Hills All Age School in Providenciales, and was always a very intelligent child who finished at the top of her class each term. After leaving school, she made her living by making and selling hats. She met and married Sheffield Brown in 1935, two children were the fruits of this union, Hewitt and Eloise. Being the industrious and adventuresome person she was, Olive decided to travel abroad to the Bahamas for a better way of life. In 1938 she left the shores of Providenciales and ventured to the Bahamas.

PROFILE OF OLIVE ATTENBOROUGH
Sojourn in the Bahamas :
When Olive migrated to Nassau, she had little family in the Bahamas and she befriended a group of neighbours on Hospital Lane where she resided and forged lifelong friendships.
Olive took up employment at the British Colonial Hotel along with her companion “Baby” as she was affectionately called and led a very quiet life. Her socializing basically incorporated work, home and Church - that was her way of living. “Baby” was an avid card player with Pokeno being her favourite, hence, she met regularly with her girlfriends to play card games at Hospital Lane at her close friend, Doris’ home. She was an excellent cook and would enjoy cooking large pots of food for friends and family.
While still in the Bahamas, as ‘life sometimes’ happens’ she and her husband parted ways. She then took up residence with one of her dear friends, Edith Davis. Edith’s children became “Baby’s” children. They enjoyed many happy days together. During this time she gave birth to another daughter, Donna, in 1960. Eventually, “Baby’s” spirit longed for a change of scenery and in 1964 she migrated to The United States. She later met and married Stanley Attenborough in 1969.
“Baby” was very religious and she made it a point that each Sunday she was found in her Church to show reverence through worship, praise and thanksgiving with a grateful heart to her God. She was a Sunday School teacher and always played an active role in the various services until strength failed her and the Master sent his angels to transport her home.
