About Me

The story behind the Family Footprint of Joseph Williams—and my commitment to preserving the people, memories and journeys that connect us.

A place for our scattered pieces to meet.

My name is Patrice L. Williams. I created this website to make it easier for us to understand our lineage, reconnect separated branches and bring the pieces of our family story together in one dependable place.

My connection to Joseph Williams runs through his daughter Almeana Williams, affectionately known as Ma Mena. She was the mother of Charles Williams, whose daughter Ruth Williams was my mother.

I was born in Nassau, The Bahamas, raised in the Turks and Caicos Islands and now live in London, England. My own journey crosses several places, but this archive belongs to every Williams relative whose memories and records help complete the larger picture.

The generational path that connects me to Joseph Williams

Five generations forming the direct line at the heart of my connection to this project.

  1. 01 Joseph Williams
  2. 02 Almeana Williams “Ma Mena”
  3. 03 Charles Williams
  4. 04 Ruth Williams
  5. 05 Patrice L. Williams

Three places shape my perspective.

Each place is part of how I understand family, movement, identity and the importance of preserving where we came from.

  1. Born

    Nassau, The Bahamas

The beginning of my own life story and my connection to the wider Caribbean.

  2. Raised

    Turks and Caicos Islands

The home in which family relationships, memories and identity took shape.

  3. Now based

    London, United Kingdom

Continuing the research while connecting with relatives across the world.

01

Research

I examine names, relationships, dates and places using available vital records, original documents, church and courthouse material and recognised genealogy resources.

  • Compare details across more than one source where possible
  • Identify unconfirmed information clearly and honestly
  • Build each branch from evidence rather than assumption
02

Preserve

The archive reaches beyond dates. It records family Bible entries, photographs, letters, journals, diaries, yearbooks, audio memories and suitable recordings of family events and celebrations.

03

Reconnect

I want the archive to help relatives recognise one another, reconnect missing branches and understand the experiences that shaped the people behind the names.

An independent family project: I am not a professional genealogist. I undertake this work voluntarily and apply care, honesty and sound research practices to every part of the archive.

You may be holding the missing piece.

You may have begun researching your own branch, inherited a family document, recognised someone in an old photograph or remembered a story that deserves to be recorded. Whatever you have, I would be pleased to hear from you.

We can communicate by email, telephone, video call or text. Where my health, time and finances allow, I may also arrange for myself or a family representative to connect with relatives directly.

  • 01 Share records
Certificates, family Bible entries, letters, journals, photographs and recordings.
  • 02 Share memories
Names, places, sayings, experiences and stories passed down over time.
  • 03 Reconnect branches
Help identify relatives, fill missing links and bring family lines together.

Let’s reconnect the Williams family.

Our history may not be perfect, but it is ours—and it deserves to be preserved with honesty, care and respect.
